nice holiday region in Spain at the Costa Blanca. Calpe is located on the northern Costa Blanca and owns one of the best Spanish fishing and yacht ports at the Mediterranean sea. The landscape impresses particularly through its wild romantic beauty, flat and sandy beaches, great reefs and steep mountains. The resort Calpe has 2 outstanding fine-sandy beaches, to north the beach Playa de Levante almost one kilometres long and to south the beach Playa del Arenal of approx. 2 kilometres length. Both were honoured with the blue flag by the European Community. As landmarks of Calpe, the impressing massif Peñon de Ifach raises approx. 328m from the sea. It is a strange monolith whose peak one reaches through a tunnel hit into the rock. One has a marvellous view over the northern Costa Blanca from this steep rock, that blue-grey mountain ridge reminds one of the rock from Gibraltar. All kinds of stores, international restaurants and a large number of discos, cafés and bars prevents any boredom. The climate contains iodine and lots of minerals which is good for rheumatism, gout, asthma, heart problems, skin and allergy illnesses. Sufficient medical attention (English clinics and Doctors) is guaranteed. |
